Day 3 - Friday 25 June
Design 2020
An insight into the evolution of the café bar concept
Today’s café bar is a unique combination of leisure, retail and workspace. For day three of the conference we have reached outside our industry to bring together presenters to explore key trends in consumer habits, customer interaction and the changing needs and function of café bars.
This day is for anyone involved in the design of a café bar, from one unit independents to multi site operators. Our speakers will look at all the factors that contribute to the design and layout of a café bar and try and map the emerging model for the café bar of 2020.
To balance the non-industry perspective, we have the internationally renowned cafe bar operator and innovator, David Schomer, who will present architect drawings of his newest espresso bars, providing his own unique insight into ensuring café bars serve the operator as well as the customer.
The moderator for this day will be Hugh Gilmartin who is not only a serving board member of the SCAE , co-author of "Setting up and managing your own coffee bar", but also runs his own successful coffee distribution business in Northern Ireland.
